People began arriving for the opening of NEW PEOPLE in San Fransisco at 4 a.m despite the fact it did not open until 11 a.m. That’s dedication! Baby the Stars Shine Bright and Black Peace Now will be stocked along with other j-fashion brands. A fashion show was held to show the latest street fashions from japan but there was no La Carmina!

Jasmine You, bassist of the visual kei Versailles has died of a undisclosed cause at the age of thirty. He passed away last weekend. Previous to this all of Versailles recordings schedules were suspended from August the 3rd due to health concerns. The latest Versailles album was nearing completion and the bass tracks were being recorded at the time. There is no news on if they were finished before he passed away this weekend.

The latest issue of Shueisha’s Cookie magazine announced that Ai Yazawa, mangaka of Nana, will be on putting the manga on hiatus due to sudden illness. Yazawa is expected to go on several months of treatment to recover from her un-named disease. The return of Yazwa and Nana thus far is indefinate. Once a date is known it will be made public.
The manga Inuyasha Kanketsu-hen (Inuyashe’s final chapter) has been confirmed to released as an anime. Anime News Network reported, ““This year’s 34th issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine will announce next Wednesday that an Inuyasha Kanketsu-hen (Inuyasha Final Chapter) television adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi‘s manga has been green-lit. The anime will broadcast on Japan’s YTV this fall and cover the story in volumes 36 to 56 of the manga — the final 21 compiled book volumes. The original staff and cast will reunite for the new anime adaptation”.
Shakugan no Shana will be having a third season following the Shakugan no Shana S OVA series. Producer Nakayama Nobuhiro explained the OVA’s will delve further into the character backgrounds and relationships before starting the third season. According to Newtype magazine volume one of the OVA will be released on October the 3rd on blu-ray and DVD

AvCon will be on in Adelaide Australia from the 25th til the 26th of July at the Adelaide Convention Centre. Pre-registration has opened through Bass Ticketing. AVcon is advertised as Australia’s AVCon is Adelaide’s premier Anime and Video Games Convention. Events include: anime screenings, video game tournaments, quiz night, panels, cosplay competition, vendors and much more.
The manga Fairy Tail featured in Weekly Shounen Jump will be adapted to an anime. Anime studios A-1 Pictures and Satelight will be producing the anime but no release date is known.
The manga’s is about a teenage girl named Lucy Heartfilia who dreams of joining the world’s most notorious mage guild, Fairy Tail. Lucy soon encounters Natsu “Salamander” Dragneel, a quirky Fairy Tail member and an adolescent practitioner of the ancient Dragon Slayer magic. Lucy is eventually joins the Fairy Tail guild ands she, Natsu, and other members go on various quests together.
